Week 09 — Keep the Food Safe and Let Paul Sleep
Barrba and Paul now bring their own challenges aboard, giving the captain two more things to worry about between meals, repairs, and the next arrival.
What changed
- Barrba’s challenge asks you to finish the trip without letting his Martian opossum steal food from the kitchen. A single successful raid means the challenge is lost, so keeping dinner safe now matters beyond feeding the passengers.
- Paul’s challenge is all about rest: keep his sleep need from reaching zero throughout the trip. He also speaks up when it drops below 30%, asking whether he can just lie down on the floor.
- Clicking an interactive object now produces a brief green blink, making it easier to see that your click registered while the ship is busy.
- Clicking an undamaged facility or generator no longer sends the captain off on an unnecessary repair job. Damaged bunk beds also stay unavailable until fully repaired, and their maintenance indicators reflect the damage.
- The game now opens with an initial main menu. There is also an options screen that remembers audio preferences between sessions, with working switches for door sounds and notification sounds.
The new passenger objectives follow through on last week’s plans for Barrba and Paul. Alongside Jellyfer’s burger request, they give each passenger a different concern for the captain to manage during the trip.
Next week
- Continue expanding the ship upgrades planned in the previous devlog.
- Give players more ways to spend the likes earned through challenges.
